Anyone out there don't fall for this SCAM. If you see a pop-up on your browser, just force shut down your computer (hold power button for 3 seconds or so). If you turn it on again, it should be okay. Don't listen to these scammers. Your computer has no virus.

We had the same, was running Windows defender and the pop up came up saying my computer was badly infected with virus, all my passwords and credit card details were visible to the hackers etc. and he was a Microsoft agent and needed USD149.99 to clean up my computer, very convincing and conned my husband. lucky i hold the credit card and told him it was a scam.

Hey how do we stop these scammers! I had a notification come up on my screen with the same thing, then I let them into my laptop by remote to do a check! I realised only after that it was a scam and then removed the remote access but is there anything else I should do??

Indian man said to press windows key and put in iexplore windows or close to that. before pressing okay i asked if he had anything to offer that verifies them as legit. He made a couple of comments to assure me but when i insisted he hung up. When checking my cellphone afterwards found it was NOT a toll free number,

this is the number i was given to ring about a possible virus attacking my computer and that i was to ring this toll free number for a Microsoft-Certified technician to help resolve the issue?
Investigate replied 11/19/16, 9:47 PMI also was contacted identical issue as above party to ring this number.Caller was a Shaun,a young Indian guy,offered to sell Microsoft security 3yrs @199.00USD and 5yr 299.00USD asked for his full name which he never disclosed.Wanted my credit card details for sale,never disclosed. Our screen said to contact this number otherwise computer will be shut down by Microsoft.Rang and asked who he was working for.Said he was working for Webtecx?There is a webtech, Checked NZ companies office to verify.No NZ company Webtecx there is webtech.
