An African sounding lady rang and talked a lot, saying that they had a entry for a competition I MAY have entered and had been shortlisted for the prize. When she said "may have" That was the first red flag, I either entered a competition or I did not. the second red flag was how I could hear all the other people from the call centre she was at, talking on phones in the background. She said the prize was either an large ticket item, which I cant remember or a trip to Fiji. She said she would like to me to take a few minutes to answer 5 questions, and that no credit card information would be taken from me - 3rd red flag...why bring up a credit card transaction that's not going to happen...false reassurance.
Anyway when she Finally stopped talking I said "no thankyou, i'm not interested", she said ok, and we both hung up. It felt super scammy to me and i'm glad I didn't proceed with the questions to give out my details.
