   Email from IRD was also sent to me. It is a scam but convincing. The email appeared to be sent from [email protected] but they must be masking the real sender's address.

   I have received this exact same email today but the number is apparently ird returns team. Is this a scam?

   SMS message from IRD asking me to contact 0800600068 before 18 Aug (2 days away). Hours are given as 8:30am to 4:00pm Mon-Fri. Note these hours are different to what others have reported. I believe it is most likely a scam, and will ignore it.

   The number is IRD's legitimate number for overdue tax returns. If they are calling or emailing you it is because you haven't filed your tax returns or haven't paid your tax bills, hence why they would have your details and be asking about your businesses!

   Phone number is legitimate, it directs you to the returns line. You are asked to provide the IRD number so they can locate you on the system to advise what they are looking for. Usually outstanding returns.

   I received a call that I suspected to be a scam from this number saying it was IRD.
   
   I called IRDs main number and spoke to a customer service person who looked for me and the number is legitimate.
   
   Do check for yourself if you have any doubts.

   Called as of from IRD asking personal details!!
   Not IRD, it is a scam.
   They called a personal phone number asking about the family business. Two emails also received looking exactly like the real ones from the IRD.
   I would really like to know how they got the personal number of one of the directors!!! The number is not published and the business has a seperate mobile and landline...

    Michael Fernandes sent an email and called leaving a message with the 0800 600 068 number to call back quoting your IRD number. Scam !! a very convincing one !!! including a fake Linked in profile.

    0800-600-068 called me saying they were from IRD NZ and wanted my details as i had amount owing.I had this feeling that it was a scam because i never received any notice in my mailbox. it does however has the voice mail of real ird but its a scam. because i called IRD and questioned about this number and the person who i talked to. THEY SAID ITS NOT THEIR NUMBER AND ITS A SCAM.
